Introducing Weekend Writing Warriors!

I'm so excited! Teresa Cypher, Dana Renelt and myself are proud to announce our new site, Weekend Writing Warriors! The site will pick up where Six Sentence Sunday leaves off (its last day is January 27th), but with a twist -- we'll be allowing 8 sentences. Our linky list is already open though the list won't go live till February 3.

Teresa, Dana and I have met some truly wonderful people through SSS. We've read some moving, gripping, hilarious, and unique story snippets. I've found it very instructive to be restricted to a few sentences that still have to say something interesting. We want to be sure the circle continues.

We haven't finalized the details yet, but we're putting together a contest to help launch the site. At least one prize will be a PDF of The Emotion Thesaurus (very generously donated by The Bookshelf Muse, special thanks to Angela and Becca!). Soon as we have that all ready we'll let everybody know.

It's a similar setup to SSS -- sign up at the main site and post no more than eight sentences from an original work of yours by 9 am EST (U.S.) The admins will check the posts to be sure they conform. We feel eight sentences gives a bit better sense of the characters and the scenes.

At some point we'd also like to include links to published books by people who are participating in WeWriWa. We're still developing so keep your eyes on our site :D
